Welcome to my Space!!!

My name is Jose Perez. I am originally from Mexico, but moved to California when I was 5 years old. I relocated to Seattle with my wife and children in 2002. I have worked with youth of all ages for over 15 years and have loved every minute of it. Like many of us, I feel teaching is my calling. While I have always felt that I was a pretty good teacher, it was when I understood kids were teaching me in return that I felt like a true educator. It was not only the kids that I have worked with, but other individuals that I have learned so much from. My wife, my children, my dog, my spiritual guide, my friends, and now everyone in the MIT program have continued to provide valuable insight into who I am and how that will lead me to be a better teacher. I hope to bring a sense of community, justice, individuality, and equality to the classroom. I know that as long as I stay open-minded, humble, and continue to learn from the positive example in my life I will be able to instill these values into the next generation of learners.

Here are some resources I have found helpful. Hopefully you do also.
